Set in 1945, 2045, and the celestial ever-present, Seven Hoshi is the story of people who encounter impossible circumstances: war, climate catastrophe, and the potential obliteration of one's own kind. When devastation faces us, can we be strong enough to meet its gaze? Are we foolish to look for hope there, and can we summon the necessary courage?

Overall stage design with elements installed

Collaborating with another co technical director, we worked closely with the scenic designer to bring their design to life. We created budgets, technical drawings, delegated tasks to student labor, and led and managed work calls, all while ensuring that we we were within our limited budget and tight schedule.

The set featured two custom jigsaw style shoji screens, fabricated using 1x1 and 2x2 square box tube steel and tyvek paper. Additionally, a large sign stand featuring 15 custom made signs was built. Eight of the signs were made from laser cut white acrylic with vinyl and laser cut masonite letters. Seven of the signs were CNC’d and engraved MDF with a painted scenic treatment.
